Department of Surgery
Surgery is a specialty that deals with cancers of the GI tract such as gastric cancer, colon cancer, liver cancer and pancreatic cancer and various other disorders such as thyroid disorders, vascular disorders, anal diseases such as hemorrhoids, hernia, cancer of other body parts, congenital diseases, and emergencies such as acute appendicitis and peritonitis, various burns and trauma. The professors of the Department of Surgery have subspecialties for fields such as head and neck surgery, breast surgery, GI and gastric cancer, hepatobiliary surgery, colon and rectal surgery, and transplant surgery, and carry out research and treating patients.
