Obstetrics and gynecology is a medical specialty that deals with diseases that are related to female reproductive functions. The specialty is divided into two categories: obstetrics that deals with pregnancy, childbirth and the puerperal period, and gynecology that deals with illnesses that occur in female patients. Gynecology can again be categorized into general gynecology that deals with benign genital diseases including venereal diseases; gynecologic oncology that deals with malignant genital tumors; reproductive endocrinology that deals with infertility, menopause and hormone abnormalities; and urogynecology that deals with micturition disorder and pelvic organ prolapse. Soon Chun Hyang University Hospital operates a customized delivery and family delivery system where our professors deliver with the cooperation of the Bloodless Center. Also, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology provides the best and optimal service to patients by utilizing all possible surgical techniques such as laparoscope surgery, minimally invasive surgery and gynecologic oncology surgery.
